Investing in retirement poses a complex challenge for most investors. Retirees would like to live a comfortably lifestyle, yet cannot afford a calamitous loss on their investment portfolios from which they cannot recover.
Due to this dilemma, we at Labrador Investments believe that retiree assets should be invested conservatively. The preferred plan is to craft a portfolio so that the retiree’s income is met out of dividend and interest income, so that fluctuations in the account value do not cause the client to dip into their original principal. While this may not always be possible, given a client’s income requirements compared to the size of their account, this investment strategy is what we strive to achieve.
